Take in the Red-bellied Mountain Tanager’s exquisite beauty, which captivates many with its brilliant hues that elegantly adorn the mountains

The brilliant red and pastel blue shoulder patches are perfectly accentuated by his black suit.

The habitats that these birds favor are wooded regions, meadows, and altitudes between 2400 and 3500 meters.

The red-bellied moth caterpillar darts from shrub to shrub in search of berries and tiny fruits. Additionally, it has been shown to be effective for insects, particularly those that can be found hiding in bromeliads.

When mating, the female lays one to two eggs, and the male feeds her while she mates. But after they hatch, both parents will nurse the young until they are ready to erect the nest, which will usually take two to three weeks. During that time, they will frequently be found in open areas, pastures, and strewn trees.

Even though the IUCN does not officially consider this species to be endangered, three members of the family have been officially declared as such. These are the golde loiο moυοtai̿ taÿager, the golde̿ throated taοager, and the greeο hooded taοager.
