The Azure-winged Magpie is distinguished by its vivid blue tail and wings

The magnificent Azure-winged Magpie (*Cyanopica cyanus*) is renowned for its exquisite plumage and gregarious nature. Its wings and tail, which contrast sharply with its beige or light grey body and black cap, give it a medium-sized, 31–35 cm appearance. Eastern Asia, including China, Korea, and Japan, as well as portions of the Iberian Peninsula in Spain and Portugal, are frequent habitats for this species.

With azure wings Due to their sociable nature, magpies are typically observed in flocks or small groups. They consume a wide range of foods, including fruits, seeds, insects, and even tiny vertebrates. The fact that they exhibit cooperative behaviors like collective foraging and food sharing within their flocks is another indication of their intelligence.

They generally create cup-shaped nests in colonies at the top of trees as part of their nesting behaviors. Strong family ties are shown by both sexes, who take part in feeding the young.
