The feathers of the chestnut-breasted Malkoha exhibit a stunning color change when exposed to golden sunlight

The Chestnut-breasted Malkoha (Phaenicophaeus curvirostris) is a striking bird found in Southeast Asia, including countries like Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

Recognizable by its chestnut-colored breast, greenish-black upper body, and long, graduated tail, this species is a member of the cuckoo family. Unlike parasitic cuckoos, the Chestnut-breasted Malkoha builds its own nest and raises its young.

It primarily inhabits lowland forests, foraging in the canopy for insects, small reptiles, and fruits. Its secretive nature and unique appearance make it a fascinating bird to observe in the wild.
